2024 gauge: 0.84'. Yardstick height at invert: ~ 9" ( 9 1/16"). Comments: JD's rain gauge recorded 3 1/2" of rain from last week's rainstorm (much less was recorded on the Pleasant Lake website). Pond level rose 0.4' and has declined about 0.15' since then. The rate of drainage seems slower than in the past.
5.52
08-16-2024
2024 gauge: 0.86'. Culvert invert water height with yardstick: about 9 1/2 inches. Stick transit: 71 seconds.

Canoed to Clark Pond (had to drag canoe between the culvert and Bend 2 because of the dense mat of pickerel weed). Water in creek was much higher than in May when M Pond level was higher. Opened up Dam 2 (2' height difference between upside and downside) and the dam near Clark Pond identified by drone (Dam 4 or after that).

2024 gauge: 0.91'. Slightly under 10" of water at culvert inlet (yardstick). 60 seconds transit of stick.
5.61
08-12-2024
10 1/4" of water in culvert using yard stick. 2024 gauge: 0.95'. 45 second stick transit. Good flow feeder stream (from the direction of 'Mt. Radon' ) to Clark Creek.
5.65
08-11-2024
New gauge (the "2024 Gauge" read 0.98'. Short gauge read about 0.35'. Water at entrance to culvert was 10 1/2" using a yard stick placed on upper corrugation; 12" at exit of culvert. Heavy rain yesterday afternoon. 5.24' reading before storm; 2024 gauge read about 0.58' before the rain. Head wall stones on downside culvert were adjusted yesterday by Public Works and loam and conservation mix was applied; much was washed out by the storm. 43 seconds for stick to go through culvert (33 seconds yesterday after the storm; before the storm the water was flowing from Clark Creek to Messer Pond based on stick test. This is likely due to the new large dam near Clark Pond identified by a drone survey done 2 weeks ago). New gauge was installed last week by NLCC. The 0 point was set to the upper corrugation at the bottom of the culvert, so this gauge should reflect the height of water at the entrance to the culvert.
5.24
08-10-2024
Water was flowing from Clark Pond to Messer Pond. See notes in entry for 8/11.

Calm. Stick rate through culvert: 63, 65, 70 seconds measured during past few days. / Rock reference: 2 protrusions visible by red and white buoy. About 6” between them. Largest one is about 5’ long. / Top section of creek below culvert to second bend is impassable by boat due to plant growth, unlike prior years: was able to walk it, observing only 1 to 2” of water above plants in many places. / Pond level still slightly above expected low point after long dry period. / Heat wave started yesterday.
